A RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF TEACHER AND STAFF APPRECIATION HONORING THE NORWOOD TEACHER OF THE YEAR
WHEREAS, May 4th-8th, 2026 is Teacher Appreciation Week and May 5th is Teacher Appreciation Day; and
WHEREAS, education and knowledge lay the foundation for the future of our children; and
WHEREAS, teachers play a crucial role in building a foundation for success that follows students well beyond the classroom; and
WHEREAS, teachers fill many roles, as listeners, explorers, role models, motivators, mentors, and community liaisons with students’ families; and
WHEREAS, an individual who exemplifies these characteristics is Jennifer Harvey, a mathematics teacher at Norwood High School, and district employee for over 20 years, who was chosen to represent all the great educators in Norwood; and
WHEREAS, teachers spend countless hours preparing lessons, evaluating progress, counseling and coaching students, and going above and beyond daily; and
WHEREAS, our community recognizes Jen and appreciates its teachers for educating and supporting the children of this community and empowering them to become the best version of themselves; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Norwood Board of Education proclaims the month of May 2026 be TEACHER APPRECIATION MONTH; and proclaims Jennifer Harvey, our Norwood Teacher of the Year and sent her name to the Hamilton County Education Foundation to be honored at their Celebrate Excellence event;
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Norwood Board of Education strongly encourages all members of our community to join with it in personally expressing appreciation to our teachers and aides for their dedication and devotion to their work this school year.
