Norwood View Elementary Update

The 2021-2022 school year is off to fantastic start!  It is hard to believe fall is here, and we are already well into the second quarter of the school year.  Staff and students alike are excited to be back in the newly renovated Norwood View Elementary School.  Our old friend certainly does not look her age of 104 years old.  A new HVAC system, doors, widows, floors, office space with secure entrances, and an expanded parking area are just a few of the many upgrades to our facility.

As amazing as the school building looks, we are much more excited about the wonderful experiences provided for our students on a daily basis.  The Norwood View staff participates in ongoing professional growth opportunities to ensure our students receive the highest quality education available.  We continually analyze our instructional practices and monitor student growth to ensure each child’s individual needs are met.
Norwood View is proud to announce our first ever Head Start program.   Children ages 3-5 finally have the opportunity to receive an early childhood education without leaving our neighborhood.  The program currently has 17 students who are enjoying their first ever educational experience.
PAX Good Behavior activities are being implemented by all adults throughout the entire school.  This scientifically based program is designed to help children learn how to self-regulate emotions, make healthy choices, and problem solve.  Students and adults work together to create a safe, nurturing environment
Norwood View is pleased to welcome back the Adopt a Class program.  Currently, nine local corporations have adopted 14 different homeroom classes.   These neighborhood partners conduct monthly visits, sharing a variety of career and social skills as they build relationships with our students.
