Mr. Mark Gabbard, Principal
Williams Avenue Elementary Weather/ COVID-19 Remote Learning Expectations
Daily Schedule Expectations
All students should plan on following a consistent bell schedule Monday thru Friday (5 days per week) while on the COVID-19 Remote Learning Schedule. Students will find daily Google Meeting links, learning activities, and videos in order to maintain a familiar and coherent learning environment. The bell schedule and class times are listed on the back of this page. Attendance will be taken daily in every class. Students are expected to check their email accounts and google classroom daily for important school news and information.
Logging In/Setting up for the Day
It is important students create positive routines and habits. Students should log-in to each class at the
beginning of the bell each day. Teachers will daily deliver instruction, facilitate collaboration with classmates, provide Specials & other supports to students. Being on time to every class is important in the remote learning classroom.
Our schedule allows students access to real-time instruction with structured lessons, independent work, while allowing time to build the necessary relationships important for learning. Students are expected to report to their class Google Meet throughout the day and receive instruction from the teacher. Each teacher will guide the remote instruction time depending on the course.
Daily from 11-12:00, students should take a break from learning and enjoy lunch! Our food service team will be
providing packed lunches for pick-up on Monday’s & Wednesday’s at the Board office entrance of Williams Avenue Elementary for all students between 10:30 - 12:00 for those wishing to access their services. Students should stretch, eat lunch, and decompress before attending afternoon classes.
All of our students will have access to teachers in order to support the needs of all learners. Our hopes are that this learning experience will be positive for students, families and teaching staff. We are committed to providing sound instruction and maintaining a high level of student engagement in their learning. Students can access additional resources such as counselors and administrators as needed through their email and/or Google Classroom.
