WAE School News

March Rising Star Elijah Smith

Elijah has been a ray of sunshine in our school. Elijah comes to school every day with a huge smile on his face.  He greets everyone he sees by name and is genuinely interested in everything his friends say.

February Rising Star Rory Broad

First grader, Rory Broad, is the Rising Star Student at Williams Avenue Elementary.  Rory is an extremely careful and thorough worker in her First-Grade classroom.  She puts 100% effort into every activity she completes.  Rory displays a great deal of maturity in the way she completes her work.  She takes her time, pays close attention to details, and truly uses every ounce of her being in completing assignments.

January Rising Star Kara Bedford

Kara Bedford is THE Reading Rising Star! Kara has been in my (Miss Armor’s) class for three years now! When I first met Kara we were working on letters and letter sounds and now she is reading 80 words per minute and has made 17 point jumps on her reading MAP test! All of Kara’s growth can be brought back to how hard she has worked, everyday that Kara is at school she is there to learn and be the best Kara she can be!

December Rising Star Blakely Means

Blakely Means is the 4th grade Rising Star for Williams Avenue Elementary for December.  She comes to school each day with positive energy and a smile on her face. During class, Blakely participates in discussions and puts forth a solid effort. She often chooses to work with other students who may be struggling, helping to promote a positive learning environment

Sofia Ho

Sofia is such a hard worker in our classroom.  She knows being a hard worker is what school is all about.  She said her favorite part of school  is seatwork; this is when students complete independent work on their own.   She also stated that her other favorite part of school is the weekly spelling tests.  She likes to show what she knows and takes pride in completing these assignments.  Sofia was nominated by her classmates to be one of our PAX Leaders this year as well.
