Early Education - Norwood Ready Kids
Norwood Ready Kids (NRK) is a collaboration of early education providers dedicated to helping families and children age 0 to five years old arrive ready for Kindergarten. We began in 2016 thanks to generous donations from local businesses. NRK is available for every family in 45212. You can attend playgroups, receive home education services, meet other parents through family groups, and more. Check out the opportunities below and jump in!
At Home Learning: ECS and SPARK. All home learning programs listed below support the parent’s role as their child’s first and most important teacher. We provide a kindergarten readiness advantage. In addition, we provide developmental screenings, referrals as needed or as desired, links to community resources, and offer group-based learning opportunities. These programs collaborate to provide group opportunities where other ECS and Spark families can engage, support each other, and share experiences.
ECS (Every Child Succeeds) – Moms or Dads get extra support for a healthy pregnancy that continues as their child grows. The home visitor shares information and fun activities to help their child learn through play, which supports physical, social and emotional development. Expecting a baby or have an infant? This program may be great for you.
SPARK (Supporting Partnerships to Assure Ready Kids) - enrolls preschool-age children (three and four-year-olds). Once or twice a month, each SPARK family is guided through an early learning lesson with a Parent Partner. Curriculum aligns with state education standards. At each visit, a book, an activity card, and supplies are given to the family so parents can continue the learning between visits.

Kaleidoscope Play & Learn® groups are available for families with children from birth through age six. At Kaleidoscope Play & Learn® we lead young children and their parents/caregivers through a play experience designed to promote children’s cognitive, language, social, and emotional development. We have lots of fun together singing songs, reading/telling stories, creating art, and playing.
Strong Families Parent Groups - 4C for Children facilitates the Norwood Parent Group Strong Families, which is a virtual opportunity for parents to come together, share, learn, and discuss parenting 0 to 12-year-olds. Join us to discuss simple ways to nurture ourselves, reduce stress, improve communication and address challenging behaviors.
Great Start is a kindergarten readiness workshop that provides helpful tips to ensure a smooth transition to kindergarten. Parents and caregivers learn about valuable tools and resources to prepare children for school. This program connects families with excellent resources available in 45212 and the Norwood City School District.
