Search for Children With Disabilities
The Norwood City School District is participating in a statewide effort to identify, locate and evaluate all children with disabilities from birth to age 21. Many children who need preschool classes have unidentified disabilities. For children from birth to age 2, a disability means that a child has a delay in one or more of the following areas: communication, cognitive ability, adaptive behavior, physical development, or social/emotional development.
For children ages 3 through 5 years old, a disability means that a child has a significant deficit in one or more of the following areas: communication skills, hearing, vision, motor functioning, adaptive behavior, or cognitive ability. For school-age children, a handicapping condition means having an identified handicap of the following conditions: orthopedic/health, speech and language, severe behavior, learning disabilities, developmental, hearing or visual, autism, or traumatic brain injury.
Anyone knowing of a Norwood child who may have a disability is asked to contact Special Education Services, 2132 Williams Avenue, Norwood, Ohio 45212, or telephone 513-924-2500.
