All preschool children must participate in a developmental screening before school starts. Screening occurs before the start of the school year and on Fridays during the school year.
The purpose of a developmental screening is for teachers to better meet the needs of your child when he/she enters school. The information from screening will assist the teachers in planning instruction for your child.
The preschool team will screen your child in the areas of: pre-academic concepts, motor skills, language development, and social-emotional skills. Parents will also be asked to fill out a questionnaire. Results of the screening will be sent home within 1 month.
Screening takes approximately 30-45 minutes. Children must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian for screening. You will receive screening results within 1 month.
